If you need a utility van with serious space, superior handling, and superb fuel economy, you’re not going to do better than the 2015 Ram ProMaster. It’s also highly configurable and comes in a number of trim levels to suit your space needs.

We should mention that the 2015 ProMaster does not have seating, so it’s strictly for hauling. If you’re looking for a large passenger van, we’d recommend the 2016 Ram ProMaster City, which shares many of the same features.

Drivers looking for a cargo-only van should read on for our full review of the 2015 Ram ProMaster:

Engine & Hauling
There are two engine options on the 2015 ProMaster. The standard option is a 3-liter turbocharged diesel V4 with 174 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. You can also choose a 3.6-liter V6 engine with 280 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Both options have 6-speed automatic transmission. It’s estimated that the base engine gets 15 MPG combined and the V6 gets 18 MPG combined, which is a money-saver for a car of this size, and also makes it a best in class for fuel economy. You can get about 18,500 miles between oil changes with the ProMaster.

It has a maximum towing capacity of 5,100 pounds and a maximum payload of 4,417 pounds. The van itself is more lightweight than others in its class and even has good traction in slippery conditions.

Cargo Space
The 2015 ProMaster is front-wheel drive to maximize space. With a unit-body cab and front-drive layout, it’s highly configurable, has a tight turning radius, and a low, flat cabin floor for optimal use of space and ease of loading. Depending on the trim level you choose, the ProMaster has anywhere from 259 to 463 cubic feet of cargo space, with the 1500 being smallest and the 3500 being the largest.

Features
While the ProMaster is meant purely for utility, it does come with a number of standard and optional features for comfort and convenience. Standard features include Brembo brakes, a telescopic steering wheel, remote keyless entry, power windows, 4-speaker audio system, air conditioning, and USB input for smartphone connectivity. Safety features include electronic traction control, stability control, trailer sway control, a six-airbag system, and hill-start assist to prevent rolling.

If you want to add on to the ProMaster, you can choose swiveling front seats, pneumatic suspended driver’s seat, Uconnect infotainment with touch screen and navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, backup camera, backup sensors, heated seats, cruise control, overhead shelf, and driver-side sliding door. You can also opt for Uconnect Web to get internet access wherever the road takes you.
