Review: 2020 Jeep Cherokee

Performance

With all-weather capability and a base powertrain consisting of a 2.4-liter Tigershark® Multiair® 2 four-cylinder engine teamed with a nine-speed automatic transmission, the Jeep Cherokee is ready for any adventure. If you are looking for more power, you can opt for the new 270-hp 2.0-liter turbo or the 3.2-liter Pentastar® V6 which kicks out 271-hp and 239 lb-ft of torque. The Latitude, Limited, and Overland trims are available with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, and the Trailhawk model comes standard with an all-wheel drivetrain. The Cherokee has an available towing capacity of 4,500 pounds and has an optional Selec-Terrain® Traction Management System with Auto, Sport, Snow, Sand/Mud, and Rock modes.

Technology

The Jeep Cherokee incorporates the Uconnect® 4 multimedia system with a 7.0-inch touchscreen display, Bluetooth® with voice command, Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility, and a six-speaker sound system as standard technology features. A Uconnect® 4C NAV system, an 8.4-inch intuitive touchscreen, navigation, HD Radio™, SiriusXM® All Access, an Alpine premium audio system with nine speakers, two USB ports, and a Wi-Fi hotspot are optional.

Comfort and Convenience

Supportive, cloth-upholstered bucket seats, a 60/40 split-folding rear seat, power heated side mirrors, keyless entry, sufficient rear legroom, and up to 54.9 cubic feet of cargo space comes standard. Available is Nappa leather-trimmed seating, heated and ventilated front seats, an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, and dual-zone automatic temperature control. Also, a sliding rear seat with a hidden storage compartment, a hands-free power liftgate, remote vehicle start, Keyless Enter ‘n Go, and a CommandView® dual-pane panoramic sunroof are optional.
