The base Jeep Cherokee Latitude is equipped with a 180-hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder Multiair® engine paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission and a front-wheel drivetrain which earns an estimated EPA-rating of 31 mpg highway and 22 mpg city. A 270-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged engine and a 3.2-liter Pentastar® V6 engine are optional. The base engine has a towing capacity of 2,000 pounds while the optional V6 engine has the capability to tow up to 4,500 pounds. Three four-wheel drive systems are available for improved traction and are comprised of Jeep Active Drive I, Jeep Active Drive II, and Jeep Active Drive Lock.

 

2019 Ford Escape

The Ford Escape S base trim is powered by a 168-hp 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with SelectShift® capability and a front-wheel drivetrain. The estimated fuel economy is 29 mpg highway and 22 mpg city. A 179-hp 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged EcoBoost® engine and a 2.0-liter twin-scroll EcoBoost® engine with 245-hp are optional. All-wheel drive is available. The Escape has a towing capacity of 3,500 pounds.
