600 × 335

Drivers in the greater Boston area understand how important it is having a vehicle that can handle chaotic and ever-changing roads whether it be construction or traffic. Getting from place to place safely and efficiently is important and we will break down why you should be excited about the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. Read on, then come to visit us in Newton to see just how great the Pacifica is!
The 2018 Pacifica has a top-notch trifecta of engine options, two being traditional gas engines and one hybrid. The base model is outfitted with a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine producing 287 horsepower. The second gas engine is the same 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine with Stop/Start. Both gas engines are paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. The final engine to complete the trifecta is the hybrid engine. This a 3.6-liter Atkinson-cycle V6 with an electric motor. These engines are paired with an electrically variable transmission.
Although the engine is typically at the forefront of performance and speed, the 2018 Pacifica features excellent towing capacity as well. Anyone needing to haul recreational vehicles, or a trailer would benefit from 3,600-pound towing capacity with the Trailer Tow Group the Pacifica houses.
The Pacifica creates a great experience under the hood and inside the car as well. Two 10.1-inch HD touchscreens with Blu-ray player highlight the second-row seats. With available HMDI inputs, wireless headphones, and streaming, to enhance available apps and games, the Pacific is the perfect way to take a road trip. The front seat gets a touchscreen as well with an 8.4-inch screen with ever-helpful iPhone assistant, Siri.
With Android Auto and Apple CarPlay available on the touchscreen, playing all of your favorite music is available at your fingertips without having to ever look at your phone. For those looking for one additional streaming option, SiriusXM Satellite Radio is available. All of these are only enhanced by the Harman Kardon Premium Surround Sound System with 20 speakers that produce clear and vibrant music.
A van with great performance under the hood, quality entertainment features inside, plus top-notch safety ratings and features are hard to come by, but luckily the 2018 Pacifica is able to combine all three. The Pacifica has a 360° surround view camera that gives a bird eyes view displayed on the vibrant 8.4-inch touchscreen in the front dash. Full-speed Forward Collision Warning-Plus provides visual and audible warnings when approaching too close to an object in front and employs the Emergency Brake if needed. The Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go makes sure your van can adjust speed as needed to keep a preset distance between you and the car in front of you.
Not only does it help you drive, but it also has the systems to help with parking, whether it be the Rear Park Assist with Stop to help smoothly back into the garage or the Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist System which controls the steering and provides instructions on the touchscreen to make sure the right amount of pressure is provided on the accelerator or brake to make a usually difficult parking situation look easy.
