Performance and Off-Road Features

The Jeep Wrangler JK has earned a Trail Rated 4X4 badge, successfully undergoing stringent testing for traction, articulation, maneuverability, ground clearance, and water fording. The lineup includes Sport, Sahara, and Rubicon trims, as well as five special editions: Rubicon Recon, Golden Eagle, Freedom Edition, Willys Wheeler, and Altitude.

The Wrangler JK features a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, making 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. All models feature the Rock-Trac or Command-Trac 4X4 systems, Dana 44 heavy-duty axles, Electronic Stability Control, and Hill Start Assist with Electronic Roll Mitigation. Each trim also has the option for a 5-speed automatic transmission.

Sport trims come standard with front and rear tow hooks, fuel tank and transfer case skid plates, full-framed removable doors, Goodyear Wrangler on/off-road tires. The lowest trim is also available with Trac-Lok limited-slip differential.

The Sahara trim adds heavy-duty suspension with gas shocks, 18-inch aluminum wheels, Bridgestone Dueler All-Terrain on/off-road tires, and Trailer Sway Control. The Rubicon adds or replaces 17-inch polished aluminum Mineral Gray wheels, 32-inch BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain tires, and a wash-out interior with removable carpet and drain plugs.
