The 2018 Challenger features 12 trims and a robust engine lineup. Trims include SXT, SXT Plus, R/T, R/T Plus, R/T Shaker, R/T Plus Shaker, R/T Scat Pack, 392 Hemi Scat Pack Shaker, SRT 392, SRT Hellcat, and the brand new SRT Demon and Hellcat Widebody.

The base engine is a 3.6-liter V6 that makes 305 horsepower and 268 lb-ft of torque, and next up is a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 with manual or automatic transmission that produces up to 375 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. The 6.4-liter Hemi V8 makes 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. The SRT Hellcat and SRT Demon both feature a 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8. The SRT Hellcat churns out 707 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque, while the SRT Demon makes up to 808 horsepower and 840 lb-ft of torque.

The V6 has standard RWD and available AWD and has an 8-speed automatic transmission. All V8 variants come with a 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission.

Safety and Tech

The 2018 Dodge Challenger earned a best-possible 5-Star Overall Rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and comes fully equipped with active and passive safety features.

All models of the Challenger come standard with advanced multi-stage airbags, Brake Assist, Brake-Park Interlock, Electronic Stability Control, Enhanced Accident Response System, Hill Start Assist, and Rain Brake Support. Available safety features include a a Blind Spot Monitoring System with Rear Cross-Path Detection, Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking, ParkSense Rear Assist System, and ParkView Back-Up Camera.

Comfort and Convenience

Each model of the 2018 Challenger comes equipped with dual-zone climate control, Keyless Enter ‘n Go with illuminated entry (with option for remote start), a leather-wrapped shift knob and steering wheel, and adjustable steering column. The base model has sport cloth seating, a 6-way power adjustable driver’s seat, front seats with easy rear-seat entry/exit, Uconnect 5.0 infotainment, integrated voice command, and a 6-speaker sound system.

Seating options include Performance cloth, Houndstooth Performance Cloth, Sport leather, Performance leather with suede, and Performance Laguna leather. Upper trims are also available or standard with heated front seats, heated and ventilated front seats, Uconnect 8.4 with Navigation, and an 18-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.
